Estonia 16M


Built as an international F2 car in 1969, the Estonia 16 was based on the Estonia 9M chassis and equipped with a Moskvich 412 engine. When the new international 1600 cc F3 was introduced in 1971, the Soviet equivalent of it was national F2. The Estonia 16 didn't saitisfy all the requirements of this new F2, so both its chassis & engine were strongly modified. The modified version, called Estonia 16M, wasn't much allied to Estonia 16, and it itself became the base chassis of Estonia 17 and 18. The differing data of 16M are in brackets below.
