1911 - Won American GP (FIAT).
1912 - Killed in practice for the American GP at Milwaukee, driving a works FIAT.

When 16, lied about his age, claiming he was 19, in order to enter a novice race at Empire City, near Yonkers, racing his mothers' Oldsmobile. He won the race. He bunked off school (the private Harstrom's Preparatory School in Norfolk, Virginia) in 1908 to go to the Daytona Speed Trials. He talked himself into being a mechanic for New York FIAT importer Emanuele Cedrino, and then talked himself into a ride, breaking the 4 year old amateur one-mile record. He followed this up with a class win in the Shingle Hill hillclimb, and then purchased a 1908 Grand Prix Benz, finishing 4th in the 1909 American GP. For 1910, he drove a factory Benz, winning the American GP. He joined the FIAT factory team for 1911, winning the American GP yet again. He drove for FIAT again in 1912, and was leading the French GP until he hit a dog and ruptured his fuel tank. It was repaired, but he had to refuel on the course, which was illegal and caused disqualification. He returned to the US for the Vanderbilt Cup and American GP. It was during practice for the GP that his car left the circuit, flinging the driver and riding mechanic (Scudelari) into an adjacent field. They were both taken to the nearby Trinity Hospital. Bruce-Brown died later that day from a fractured skull and internal injuries. Scudelari died a week later.
