O'Rourke, Steve (GB)

Former manager to the band Pink Floyd. Started racing a Mini Cooper in 1961, and sportscars from 1979. He set up his own team, EMKA, and in the 1980's built his own Aston Martin powered Group C cars to compete at Le Mans. He finished 2nd in the 1981 Silverstone 1000 km. He competed in the British GT Championship in the 1990s, first with a McLaren F1 GTR (winning the championship in 1997), and with a Porsche 996 in 2002. He limited himself to a management role in 2003, but succumbed to illness after heart problems.

Offenhauser, Fred (USA)

Machinist who worked for Miller in the early 1920's. In 1931, when Miller was in financial difficulties, Offenhauser took promissory notes on various items of equipment in lieu of pay, and when Miller went bust, Offenhauser continued to build Miller engines. He then built his own 4-cyliner engine for Midget racing. After World War II, Offenhauser sold his business, and the new owners continued to produce engines under the Offenhauser name.
